COLD beers and practical tips are on offer for fathers who want to brush up on their parenting skills at an upcoming workshop.
The session will cover three practical tips on how to get children, from two to teenage, to do things without having to nag or yell.
Event host Megan Warren said she had run parenting courses in the past, and noticed most people attending were female.
"I saw that there was a gap and that most parenting advice was targeted towards mothers," she said.
"Some dads work a lot of the time and might not be around to do much of the parenting.
"There's not many opportunities to connect with the kids and because of that they can get frustrated easily when kids are acting out or not doing what they're told, (whereas) mums who might deal with it more often have more patience."
Ms Warren said the workshops could help build understanding and establish closer relationships between fathers and children.
The workshop will be held from 7pm to 8pm on Thursday, May 9 at The Bench in Cleveland.
Tickets are $20 from keytokids.com.au/events/.
