CRAFTS and Mother's Day gifts will be available at a Cleveland Challenge Lions Club stall to raise money for Queensland farmers.
The stall will be at Westpac Corner, Cleveland on Thursday, May 9 from 8am to midday.
Club spokeswoman Celeste Parker said money raised would be used to buy $50 and $100 vouchers redeemable by farmers and their families at their local shops and businesses.
"Local craft groups including the Cleveland Aveo Retirement Village have already donated children's pullovers, cardigans and beanies, and individual supporters have provided many assorted crochet single blankets, knee rugs and bedspreads," Ms Parker said.
"Other Lions volunteers have been busy making crochet edge face washers and hand towels, and knitting many items of baby wear including cardigans, bootees, beanies, cuddle blankets and gifts of baby wraps with a teddy bear."
Ms Parker said Mother's Day gifts like coffee cups filled with sweets, soft knitted scarves and long-stemmed red silk rose buds and hand-crafted greeting cards would also be on sale.
"Lions are ready to bake date loaves and muffins and regular supporters will make their popular pickles, jams and relishes," she said.
"Pre-loved books and CDs can be bought for $1 each.
"Customers will be offered free sunglasses or spectacle cases for their own prescription glasses."
