STUDENTS are set to rally outside federal MP Andrew Laming's office on Friday as part of a worldwide climate change day of action.
It follows events across Australia on March 15 that were attended by 150,000 people.
A School Strike 4 Climate campaign spokesperson said those taking part were demanding federal members and candidates committed to urgent climate action.
"Climate change is here and it's hurting people now," the spokesperson said.
"The impacts are all around us: extreme heat, drought, floods and more.
"The #ClimateElection National Day of Action is a deadline for all politicians to step up and tell the community whether they will be a climate leader."
The campaigners will rally outside Mr Laming's office in Middle Street, Cleveland at 3pm on Friday (May 3).
About 60 events are taking place across Australia, and nearly 500 worldwide.
