BLUE Care has started the search for this year's inspiring seniors who contribute to the Redlands community.
The annual initiative sees seniors who have made significant contributions to the community recognised during Queensland Seniors Week.
Blue Care's Breanne Tukavkin called for nominations to celebrate fantastic seniors from the Redlands.
"Blue Care want to hear about people who have actively contributed their time, skills and ideas towards helping make Redlands Coast a better place," she said.
One senior from each council division will be honoured at a morning tea on August 20.
Nominees must be over 60 years old and Redland residents.
People can be nominated before 5pm on June 28 by visiting redlnd.cc/InspiringSeniors or email b.tukavkin@bluecare.org.au for a nomination form.
Mayor Karen Williams said the awards acknowledged the dedication of some senior citizens in the lead up to Queensland Seniors Week.
"Just like the rest of Queensland, Redlands Coast has an ageing population and that comes with a lot of positives," Cr Williams said.
"Many of our seniors are opting to stay in the workforce for longer than previous generations and others choose to share their wisdom and experience giving back to the community in other ways.
"Countless unpaid hours of volunteer work are racked up by Redlands Coast seniors every year, often filling the gaps by providing services relied on by many people."
