UPDATE 10.30am
MORE than $10,000 of damage was caused to a Mount Cotton supermarket when a stolen car rammed the front doors during a break-in early about 1am on Tuesday.
A Mount Cotton IGA store manager said thieves had damaged the store's custom glass doors worth about $10,000.
The store opened in December after moving from another premises at the shopping centre on Valley Road.
The supermarket tripled in size and has become renowned for its selection of about 300 types of cheese.
More than $1000 worth of stock like flowers and food stored near the doors had to be discarded after being showered with shards of glass during the attempted break-in.
The manager said thieves had driven onto the footpath via a disability ramp and reversed into the door.
They fled when they saw a cleaner inside.
The manager said the cleaner was unharmed but staff had spent four to five hours cleaning up glass shards.
Mount Cotton IGA remains open.
