FAMILIES in rural areas will benefit from a charity day attended by about 125 golfers at Redland Bay Golf Club.
The event on May 21 raised money to support the Cleveland branch of the Country Women's Association.
A club spokesperson said the event was held by the ladies of the golf club.
The money went to the CWA's Public Rural Crisis Fund which helps families and communities in need during natural disasters like drought, fire and flood.
Players heard about the work of the CWA in helping women and their families in rural areas.
The charity day attracted 125 players from Redland Bay Golf Club and 13 visiting clubs.
"The competition was a fun four-person team event with a twist of a dice," the spokesperson said.
"Laughter was heard all over the course.
"It was a wonderful day of women showing strength in numbers and empowering each other and empowering this fine charity to continue their tireless efforts with rural families in times of massive stress and pressure."
The event included raffles, with a painting by club member Judy Hawkins among the prizes, and a bring and buy stall.
Players also paid for bonuses during the game.
The Wynnum Golf Club is also supporting the CWA with a charity day on June 27.
