POLICE have asked for help to identify two men as part of their investigation into the theft of the cash register at an Alexandra Hills service station.
A police spokesperson said two men entered the Cambridge Drive servo about 9.45pm on Saturday.
"...One of the men distracted the attendant," the spokesperson said.
"The second man then went behind the counter and removed the cash register and cut the wire securing it to the counter.
"The pair then fled the store on foot and were last seen heading towards Finucane Road."
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police have released footage and asked for help to identify two men who may be able to assist with the investigation.
"The first man is described as in his late 20s/early 30s, around 180 centimetres tall, shoulder length black mullet style hair that is shaved on both sides and was last seen wearing a navy-blue t-shirt, black sneakers and a black cap," the spokesperson said.
"The second man is described as caucasian in appearance, in his 20s, around 170 centimetres tall and has brown hair and a moustache and goatee.
"He was last seen wearing a red cap, black sunglasses on his head, a black long-sleeved t-shirt with a Mambo motif on the back, yellow coloured shorts and white sneakers."
