REDLANDS United young gun Byron McLeod is set to jet off to Spain to take up a full-time football position after being signed by CD Almuecar City.
The club has signed the 18-year-old striker on a permanent transfer.
McLeod broke into the Redlands United 1st team last season at the age of 17 playing six games for the Red Devils.
His season performance was enough for the club to sign the young striker for the 2019 season, where, despite missing a majority of the season with a foot injury, he played eight games in the National Premier Leagues.
CD Almuecar City manager George Jermy said McLeod made a huge impression when he came in for a training period before Christmas last season. He was quickly approached to be involved with CD Almuecar City.
Redlands United president Andy Bradley congratulated McLeod on the huge achievement and wished him all the best in his football future from everyone at Redlands United.
"We as a club are proud to have played a small part in Byron's achievement," Bradley said. "It validates what we are doing here in our development processes, in giving young kids a real chance.
"We will be keenly watching his progress with interest and have no doubt he will be a success."
