SOUTHERN Moreton Bay Islands residents will work together to create an artistic publication highlighting the unique locations, history and culture of the islands.
CULT-ure Map SMBI 4184 is a creative mapping and self-publishing project, which will see residents creating pages at a series of workshops in late August and September.
In their pages, residents can include photos, artwork and other resources that capture their experience on the islands.
Pages will then be compiled into a publication, which will be launched at a sunset social in October.
Russell Island resident and creative facilitator Jeremy Staples has delivered CULT-ure Maps throughout Australia, from Launceston to Bundaberg.
"I'm excited to deliver this project throughout my own community," he said.
"I've been wanting to do so for the past two years.
"In 2017 I undertook a study across the islands to see if the community would be interested in being part of this type of project."

The workshops - which kick off on August 31 - are open to all ages and no previous art or publishing experience is required to attend.
"I've connected with a number of local organisations to assist with hosting each workshop.
"Each workshop participant will produce a page that reflects their personal connection to the SMBI community with the final publication released at SMBI Sunset Social, an event that celebrates our unique, creative community," Mr Staples said.
At the SMBI Sunset Social on October 6, CULT-ure Map SMBI 4184 will be launched alongside musical performances, kids' activities, live art, wellness activities, lantern making and a dusk light display, local food and open mic shows.
"I love delivering the CULT-ure Map project as it's a completely hands-on activity," Mr Staples said.
"How often do you get to see a seven year old working beside a seventy-seven year old?
"It's been amazing to see what past CULT-ure Maps have inspired. In Launceston a group was inspired to create an arts trail map after participating."
