Redlands MP Kim Richards said Translink, the council and police will meet on Friday to discuss sharing CCTV footage and camera maintenance and sign agreements.
The agreements are needed before the council installs security cameras funded through a $49,000 federal grant.
The meeting comes after vandals pummeled 17 cars in just four days earlier this month. Police found the vehicles with smashed windows and slashed tyres while patrolling the car park.
Mayor Karen Williams said she hoped that Translink would sign the agreements at the meeting.
"We have been waiting months - which is just too long - for the state to sign off on a memorandum of understanding to ensure footage captured at Weinam Creek can be shared," Cr Williams said.
Cr Williams said the police had signed the agreement.
"Now we just need Translink to sign off and I am hoping the meeting will achieve that," she said. "I wrote to them last week asking them to finalise it as soon as possible."
Redland Bay officer-in-charge Sergeant Steve Graham said the police had prioritised car park security, with officers from the criminal investigation branch, water police, tactical crime squad and road policing unit being asked to patrol.
"An action plan has commenced and will continue throughout September," Sergeant Graham said. "This will include covert and foot patrols."
Ms Richards said the police had done a great job boosting safety at the precinct and would work with the council to see how CCTV could complement existing security initiatives.
"This includes looking at ways council, Translink and police can better share CCTV footage as well as what opportunities there are, if any, for additional security cameras," Ms Richards said.
Southern Moreton Bay Island residents have called for security cameras in the car park for years. The council passed a security camera policy more than a year ago and is required to install the cameras funded by the federal government by the end of the year.
Cr Williams said this week's meeting was one of a series that council had set up to get a collaborative approach.
"These meetings followed me meeting with QPS and Translink last year to discuss a collaborative model to increase surveillance around Weinam Creek," she said. "Once the MOU is signed off this will be a truly collaborative model that includes all levels of government, including federal funding."
Police investigations into the vandalism at the car park are still under way.
