Redlands Tigers opened the premier grade season with two wins from three one-day matches.
In first grade, Valley decided to bat first and were rewarded with early wickets, dismissing Liam Smith (5), Jimmy Peirson (1) and Sam Heazlett (31) to have Redlands 3/43.
Leigh Drennan (49) and James Bazley (84) steadied the ship with an 84 run partnership to put Redlands back in the driver's seat soon after.
But wickets fell regularly around Bazley, with the team eventually bowled out for 199 in the 49th over.
In reply, Valley were dismissed just five runs short of Redlands' total, seeing the home side open the season with a win.
In second grade, Redlands restricted Valley to 7/226 after being sent into bowl, with Josh Thompson 2/26 and Ben Long 2/42 leading the way.
Despite some resistance from the middle order in the run chase, including a an innings of 42 from Michael McEwan, Redlands were bundled out for 170 in the 34th over.
The under 16 Lord's Taverners team successfully chased down 170 to open the season with a win away to Sunshine Coast.
James Pullar (2/23), Ali Nasar (2/25), Brayden Laffan (55) and Keegan McClean (51*) were the top performers in Redlands' five wicket win.
