CREATIVES at Cleveland Salvos will turn trash into treasure at their Garden Spring show next week.
Volunteers and staff have been working hard to transform broken down or unwanted everyday items, like old chairs, broken jewellery or pots and pans, into functional and beautiful garden items like pots, planters or ornaments.
Store manager Narelle Pacey said the event was now in its third year and was set to showcase some of its most creative items yet.
"We had an old crock pot that wasn't safe to use so we've cut the cord off that and one of our volunteers who's really into gardening has turned it into a planter," she said.
"We've got a lady who does mosaics and last year she did a picture frame. She attached half a cup and had a little plant inside.
"We want to show people that you don't have to throw everything away - you can turn things into useful garden items."
People can drop into the store during opening hours from Monday, September 30 and Friday, October 4 to see or buy the creations.
For the first time, the show will wrap up with a fashion parade on October 4 at 11.30am.
Runway models will strut their stuff in donated clothing items, which will also be available for visitors to buy.
"We've been stockpiling clothes and accessories for four months and we're excited to show what we've put together," Ms Pacey said.
