The 21-year-old performed at the event after being selected in the final three from hundreds of entries by celebrity judges John Petrucci, Steve Lukather and Tosin Abasi.
Reavey entered online, submitting a video of himself playing an original composition entitled King Aura and was shortlisted in the top 10.
The three finalists played their entries at the show during Reavey's first visit to London.
"It is probably one of the biggest things I have done and one of my biggest achievements," Reavey said. "It was quite an experience."
Reavey said he was relieved that his hard work and the time and money he had spent paid off.
He won a PRS John Mayer signature guitar but says that he is hoping he will get recognition following the win.
With an interest in music for video games, Reavey says Japan might be in his sights, especially after a visit a year ago, but much of his recent success has been through online engagements.
"So it doesn't matter too much where I am based," he said.
Reavey said his style combines jazz fusion with modern rock sounds, instrumentation and catchy melodies from video game sound tracks.
The competition is the third on the international stage - and the biggest - won by the 2018 Queensland Conservatorium graduate, who works at Cleveland's Binary Music.
