Sigrid Mather, Brandon Harvey and Lauren Sullivan have joined 90 other young leaders to debate mock bills and learn how the state's legislature works at Queensland's Parliamentary Chambers.
They will be given the chance to refine their public speaking skills and receive mentorship from Queensland's top politicians and decision makers.
Minister for Youth Di Farmer said the mock parliament was a fantastic opportunity for the next generation of Queensland leaders to learn real leadership skills.
"They will be able to see how Parliament works first-hand and build networks they can take with them in to their working lives," she said.
"Each young member is following in the footsteps of equally fearless and inspiring young people who have gone before them, many of whom have achieved significant success.
"Democracy and community participation are important Queensland values and it's fantastic to see so many young Queenslanders ready to put them in to action."
Ms Farmer said Youth Parliament gave budding young leaders a platform to highlight issues that were important to them.
"In the past, we've heard young people speak passionately about topics as diverse as farming, drought, women's health, and LGBTQIA+ issues," she said.
"It's a privilege to hear (their) concerns and take them on board as we try to build a better Queensland.
"Congratulations to all of this year's participants. I'm sure we have a lot to learn from you."
Redlands MP Kim Richards posted a picture of herself with Ormiston College student Lauren Sullivan on the first sitting day.
"Lauren has been working amazingly hard since her selection as Redlands Youth Member," she said.
"We've had a number of meetings in the lead up to Monday's official opening.
"It has been wonderful to watch her journey. I'm very proud of Lauren's work and representation of our Redlands youth."
A record 375 young people across Queensland nominated for this year's Youth Parliament.
