GREETING smiling babies, sorting hundreds of clothing items and lending a hand to struggling parents is all in a day's work for Victoria Point couple Narelle and Brian Jeffriess, who have taken up the task of running the Redlands community kids' clothes swap.
Mr and Mrs Jeffriess are the latest operators of the clothes swap, which was started by Angela Hampton and Cindy Fox in 2017.
"Our daughter was using the service and she said we should take it on, so we did," Mrs Jeffriess said.
"We absolutely love it - I get to hold all these babies and basically it helps people in need."
Since picking up the baton five months ago, the pair has been inundated with donations and now have crates upon crates of clothes from kids' size 0000 to 16 ready for the taking.
Parents could drop off clothes that were no longer needed or could just pick up new items for their children for free.
"It's grown a lot since we took over," Mrs Jeffriess said.
"We've been getting a lot of foster parents, people affected by domestic violence, we had a woman whose house burnt down.
"(But) it's not just for people who are struggling - it's for everybody. We've got plenty of stuff to go around."
The pair have been receiving so many donations that sometimes they have to offload clothes to other charities because they are unable to store it all.
"When we get far too much, we give it out to other charities, but only free places - we don't give to anywhere that sells it," she said.
As well as loving the social side of the job, Mr and Mrs Jeffriess are glad to be doing their bit to help the environment.
"We like the fact that everything's recycled. So much today is thrown out," Mrs Jeffriess said.
"We spend a lot of time going through stuff (but) it's worth it to see the smiles, and the littlies trying on dress-ups."
