SCHOOL students will honour Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have served and lost their lives in conflict and peacekeeping operations on Friday.

Faith Lutheran College students will place flags on memorials of service members at Great Southern Memorial Park ahead of Remembrance Day on Monday.
The flag planting ceremony will take place at 10.45am.
"This is part of a global day of respect for the heroic people who have lost their lives for their country, including the brave Anzacs," Great Southern Memorial Park location manager Janine Hone said.
"We are humbled to provide this opportunity to pay respect to our soldiers, and further their legacy. It's an important occasion to ensure their memory and the gratitude for their service lives on, in this generation and the next."
The flag planting ceremony was initiated by Honour Our Fallen, a not-for-profit company formed to recognise and immortalise the memory of our defence service personnel.
Its main mission is to plant flags on the memorials of every Australian who served their nation in all conflicts and since the Boer War. It does this in partnership with school students who research and locate ex-service personnel graves in their local area.
"Remembrance Day is more than a memorial. It is also a celebration of our beautiful and distinguished nation, which has been sustained by the men and women who bravely serve this country," Ms Hone said.
Honour Our Fallen director Rick McCarthy OAM said the community could help locate the resting places off these fallen heroes.
"We are incredibly thankful to Great Southern Memorial Park for hosting this important event," he said.
"We encourage all veteran groups, historical, community, ex-service associations and schools through member newsletters, and individual families and friends of deceased veterans, to complete a simple 'flag request' form to assist us in our research and commemorative activities."
