A CONCERNED resident called triple zero on Christmas Eve after reportedly witnessing people lighting fires near Sirromet Winery at Mount Cotton.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene on Eprapah Road about 3pm to put out a small grass fire.
A QFES spokesman said the people in question were not at the scene when crews arrived and the fire was not threatening nearby buildings.
He said the resident told triple zero they had seen people lighting fires four doors down from their property.
Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene but one was turned away when the fire was discovered to be covering just three square metres of land near Eprapah Road.
Fire crews arrived on scene, accessed the site and put out the fire within 15 minutes.
The incident, which was not reported to police, comes as investigations into a Scenic Rim bushfire begin.
Boonah police are seeking information about the cause of a fire at Carney's Creek, which caused significant damage to bushland and threatened several houses on Hardcastle Road on Monday, December 16.
