STRICT wedding restrictions have not only taken their toll on bridal couples, wedding vendors have had to get creative if they want to survive during the COVID-19 outbreak.
And a Redlands family-owned florist have done just that.
Flower Crew Originals owner Vanessa Schuurman said it was a challenging time but the business was adapting.
Ms Schuurman said they had developed a partnership with a Mount Cotton flower farm, Saranah's Flower and had been going out to pick flowers.
The team at Flower Crew Originals supported a local flower farm by regularly going out to pick flowers and selling them either online or in their store.
"Last week we picked sunflowers and they sold really well. We put messages of hope on them - "stay safe" and people were lined up down the road to buy them," Ms Schuurman said.
She said they had about 10 weddings postpone, but had supported the brides and rescheduled their bouquets for their special day.
"Our florist is self service and works on an honesty system so there is no contact with the customers. We are pushing sales online and it's been really good. We are offering free local delivery," she said.
With a very active Facebook page and website, Ms Schuurman keeps her customers up to date with deliveries and what's on offer.
"Flowers are a necessity item, they keep the world going," she said.
