Few new coronavirus cases were recorded across the country as Australians got used to their the new-found freedom following the easing of restrictions.
Even cautious Victoria announced a plan to boost its hospitality industry.
But NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has warned it is likely there will be a number of new infections with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
"But at least we have a path forward and now every state can move with confidence," she told Sky News on Sunday in reference to the three-stage plan to free up the economy agreed by the national cabinet.
"Given we have the overall framework, we can all move at our own pace in how we open up our economies."
Australians across the nation have emerged over the weekend after weeks of isolation and rigid social distancing.
Victoria, which has been more cautious than other states in handling the crisis, has set out its staged plan to allow people to eat and drink inside restaurants, cafes and pubs again from the start of June.
Venues that have been open in recent weeks have only been able to serve takeaway.
"Getting these venues back up and running is very important," Premier Daniel Andrews said in Melbourne.
"But it has got to be done safely. It has got to be done in a safe and appropriate way, in a cautious way."
Australia has now tested more than one million people for COVID-19.
The number of cases in Australia stands at 7045 with the death toll from the pandemic remaining at 98.
Victoria recorded another seven COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, two linked to existing outbreaks, three found in hotel quarantine while another two are still being investigated.
NSW recorded just one new case, but state Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he had noted many people at cafes and restaurants did not appear to be observing that 1.5 metres social distancing rule.
"When you're putting the chairs out around the tables, if you could just space them a little further apart and just talk a little louder if you're out having a coffee, then that probably works, and it would keep you safe," he said.
There were no new cases in Western Australia, the ACT or Queensland, but residents of the North Rockhampton Nursing Centre aged care facility have been evacuated in a bid to stop a possible outbreak of coronavirus after a nurse tested positive on Thursday.
Thirty-five of the facility's less frail residents were moved to nearby hospitals on Saturday to create more space for the remaining occupants to isolate.
Meanwhile, the Morrison government is providing $9 million to some support volunteers in recognition of National Volunteer Week.
Social Services Minister Anne Ruston said the funding would go a long way to support organisations and their volunteers through what has been a tough year, first with bushfires and now the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
"From fighting bushfires, delivering food to vulnerable Australians in isolation, and helping out with the weekend sport, they are all local champions," she said in a statement.
