More than 1500 people from 40 countries found their voices last night to take part in a virtual sing-along with Brisbane's Pub Choir as they help keep spirits high during the pandemic.

Ladies, gents, young and old, mums and dads - all 1534 of them bravely showing up to sing The Killers "All These Things That I've Done" as part of the Pub Choir's ongoing mission to bring strangers together for a sing-song.
"We've discovered the antidote to loneliness! Please enjoy the world's most wholesome singalong," Pub Choir commented on their Facbook page.
"We're so proud that you trust us with your voices, and we hope you'll believe us when we say: you can sing."
The video, edited by Paris Owen and Jacob Sosnowski of Sleepy Mountain Films, also featured UQ Taiko, a not-for-profit, Brisbane community-based Japanese Taiko drumming team.
Before the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, Pub Choir held ticketed events at venues around Australia, including monthly gigs in their home city of Brisbane, with the aim of transforming "a crowd of tipsy strangers into a legendary choir".
Following COVID-19 the choir has moved from the pub to the couch... and so was born Couch Choir in March 2020 as a "very special quarantine project to keep you singing," as mentioned on their website pubchoir.com.au
"Even though we can't meet at the pub anymore, we can still make beautiful music together!
"Anybody from around the world is invited to submit a video of themselves singing along to our instructional videos.
"Everybody can sing. Like, not well, but literally. Why should being average at something stop you from doing it!? It hasn't yet... Singing is good for you, it's EASY, and Pub Choir is here to show you how."
This month's Couch Choir was a hit with it's participants and many took to Facebook to share their excitement with comments of pride on the video's post.
"Thanks so much Pub Choir! Such a great thing to be a part of and super great to have something to look forward to tonight (am in Melb so something to look forward to has extra specialness at the moment!!)" Rachel Edward posted.
"That has to be your best couch choir. It really says there is hope and so many people want hope. Stay safe all couch singers," Else-Marie Piggott commented.
"What joy there is in the world!! Thank you Pub Choir!!" David Schneider said.
