YOUNG students at Coolnwynpin and Cleveland State Schools twirled, skipped and pirouetted yesterday when Queensland Ballet visited the schools.
The Queensland Ballet workshops aimed to inspire regional communities and provide them the opportunity to experience the physical, social and emotional benefits of dance.
Education teaching artists Lydia Melmeth and William Cheung ran through the steps with the children of all ages.
Queensland Ballet Artistic Director Li Cunxin AO said: "Our community engagement tour is so important for us to connect with our local and regional communities, especially during this unprecedented time when our theatres remain closed".
He said whether it was the physical movement, the social aspect or the outlet of creative expression, the workshops were a fantastic way to experience the incredible art form.
