A rugby club is closed and COVID-19 contact tracing is under way after a visiting player tested positive for the virus.
The player tested positive after last Friday's match when Southern Bay Cyclones club hosted Logan City Rugby Club at the Charlie Buckler Memorial Sports Ground.
A seniors player has since tested positive for the virus, as well as a spectator associated with the home team.
It has left the Cyclones club on Boundary Street closed for cleaning. Club officials are working with Queensland Health as contact tracing has begun.
"I can confirm it, and at the moment I am trying to deal with it," club president Will Baker said.
"The club is doing everything it can to contact everyone involved that was there.
"And we will support anyone affected by it.
"We are getting the contact lists to Metro Health. The players, community members and spectators are encouraged to go and get tested."
Mr Baker said he could not confirm how many spectators would have been at the match.
The two teams were playing in the Normanby Cup.
"We are one of the strictest clubs implementing the COVID plan that we have had in place since the return of play," a Logan City spokesman said..
"Because the player is from Southern Bay we haven't had to change what we already have in place in the way of our COVID plan.
Queensland Health said there were three new cases in the state today.
It takes the total active cases to 20, with 17 of those in hospital.
