FOUR people face dangerous drugs charges after an off-duty police officer caught them crammed into one toilet stall at a Point Lookout hotel, allegedly with cocaine.
At 9pm on August 28, the officer was in the male toilets at the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel when he saw three men and one woman, all in their early 20s, entering the same cubicle.
Police allege the officer heard tapping noises and looked into the cubicle, where he saw one of the men using two cards to chop up a white powder substance on the screen of his mobile phone.
Police say the substance was cocaine.
The four are due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court later this month, charged with possessing dangerous drugs.
Police allege woman caught nearly 30km/h over speed limit
A woman from Broadbeach was allegedly caught going 76km/h in a 50km/h zone on one of Point Lookout's main thoroughfares this week.
Police say the 25-year-old was nearly 30km/h over the speed limit on Dickson Way before 3pm on Sunday.
Police also nabbed two low-range drink drivers last week, one on a Dunwich street and one on Main Beach at Point Lookout.
Both will appear in court this month.
