Redlands Tigers 1st Grade have had a huge win against University of Queensland on an emotional day.
The day started with a pre-game "Acknowledgment of Life", a minute's silence as we said our goodbyes as a club to our very own Matt Conwell, or Cozzy as he was known, who was tragically lost during the week.
Family, friends, players mates all attended as we watched our 1st grade team put on a great all-round performance with bat ball.
First grade playing at home on Peter Burge Oval saw Redlands Tigers defeat University of Queensland. Uni was all out for 225 off 48.4 overs. J Coetzee 65 (82) S Henry 57 (75).
Redlands bowlers were Sam Heazlett 2/36 (9), Jasper Sumner 2/37 (7) James Bazley 2/41 (9.4). Redlands scored 5/226 off 38.2 overs. Simon Milenko made 83 (81) Leigh Drennan 60* (66), Jimmy Peirson 53 (52) James Bazley with an explosive 19 (7) helping to secure the win with a bonus point.
Second grade played at University on Wep Harris Oval. Redlands won the toss and batted first. The top order all made starts but wickets fell at regular intervals.
Redlands was eventually bowled out for 174 in the 49th over. Jason Grosvenor 35 (56) Stephan Muller 32
(67). Uni batsman controlled the chase well by building partnerships. They chased down the runs to defeat the Tigers in the 39th over 3/177 securing a bonus point.

Our Lord Taverner's team headed west to take on Darling Downs on Sunday.
Redlands won the toss putting Darling Downs into bat. Tigers bowlers restricted the opposition to 9/149 from their 50 overs.
Darling Downs batsman C Galvin scoring 77 (152). The pick of the bowlers was Henry Zietsch taking 5/27 (10) with Jem Williams, Byron Grant, Max Gosling all picking up a wicket.
In response, Redlands batsman could not build any major partnerships until late with Jem Williams 31 (60) James Pullar 19 (36) top scoring.
Redlands Tigers eventually were dismissed for 135 in the 49th over, handing Darling Downs the win.
This season Redlands Tigers are involved in a new development competition,m the South East Youth Cup. The first round saw Redlands take on Logan. Logan won the toss, and deciding to bat posted a solid 9/160 with J Veness 44, Z Smith 32 L Teys 25 top scoring.
The pick of the Redlands bowlers was E Robertson taking 3 wickets, and M Grant R Grant both taking 2 wickets each. Redlands defeated Logan chasing down the runs 7/162. Pick of the Redlands batsmen was Tom Jeffries with 40.
