Happier Days are Here Again is the theme of the first live concert to be staged at The Donald Simpson Community Centre, Cleveland since COVID restrictions were put in place earlier this year.
The concert will be presented by Redland musical icon Leah Lever, from 2pm to 4pm on September 19.
It will feature music from the 1950s to the 1970s.
"Although 2020 has certainly been a tough year, there is still an opportunity to be optimistic about all that life offers now and in the future," Ms Lever said.
"That's why I named the show, Happier Days are Here Again in recognition of everything that has been achieved when you keep an open mind set and a positive attitude."
Ms Lever is a well-known local soprano, who has graced many of stages in South East Queensland and NSW and has performed locally at Christmas by Starlight, RPAC Live, and Australian citizenship ceremonies.
"Although I do write my own songs, I have developed a repertoire with covers of favourite tunes that I know will appeal to audiences of all ages," Leah said.
"Entertaining is all about connecting with communities and that's why I love being on the stage. It gives me a chance to reach out to my audience through song and it's why singing brings me so much joy. Happier Days are Here Again will be the second solo show I have presented at the community centre and I am very much looking forward to this encore performance.
"This concert will be even better than the last sold-out show I did at this centre now that a new even better in-house audio system is in place."
Tickets are $10 via donaldsimpsoncentre.com.au/events or on 3821 1089. Lunch will also be available for purchase at the venue.
