In Capalaba incumbent and parliamentary whip Don Brown is a short priced $1.15 while LNP candidate Bev Walters is on $5.
Independent Paul Brannagan is on $61, with the Greens Michael Metzen at $51. No one wants to get on long shots, with the Civil Liberties and Motorists Party and the Informed Medical Options Party candidates both at $91.
In Springwood, Labor's Mick de Brenni is favourite at $1.60 but he may have stumbled electorally by interfering with sports grants against departmental advice.
The LNP's Kirrily Boulton is at $2.20 while the UAP, Greens and One Nation candidates are all past $50.
The UAP is led by rich lister Clive Palmer who spent $83 million at the last election. He did not win a seat but his preferences ensured the Liberal Party remained in power so he may well play an influential role in the state election.
The LNP has toiled hard so far but leader Deb Frecklington has been unable to cut through against Ms Palaszczuk.
Ms Frecklington was hamstrung by a decision early in the COVID-19 pandemic to campaign for open borders and faced internal party divisions in June to unseat her from the leadership in favour of MP David Crisafulli.
Party president and Clive Palmer employee David Hutchinson resigned his leadership after the unsuccessful challenge.
