MEET the Springwood candidates in Saturday's election.
The Redland City Bulletin asked candidate's to submit statements and videos leading up to the election on October 31.
Candidates are in order that their names will appear on ballot papers.
Mick de Brenni - Labor
Mr de Brenni has been Springwood MP since 2015. He is also Queensland's Minister for Housing and Public Works; Minister for Digital Technology; Minister for Sport.
'We've invested in frontline services, we have delivered 1,990 more teachers so our kids get a better education, we have delivered 2,390 more nurses so every family can rely on a decent health system.
"A re-elected Palaszczuk government will continue to provide for our community," he said.
Mr de Brenni said Labor will expand the Redlands Hospital and build an additional satellite hospital in the community, and we will expand local frontline response by building a fully operational fire station.
Janina Leo - The Greens
Ms Leo is a psychologist who has lived in the Springwood electorate for more than 10 years.
"I believe in ensuring that the community is consulted and that their views are represented in Parliament. For those who want a fair go, I am a compassionate voice who will advocate on behalf of everyone in our community, not just the wealthy few.
"To address cost of living we'd make public health and education genuinely free. We would build 200 community health clinics with bulk billing GPs - hospital parking will be free.
"We would introduce genuinely free public schools abolishing all school service fees, excursion costs and textbook costs, free school breakfast and lunches, and free sport for kids.
"We would also invest in publicly owned renewable energy generation and retail to bring down electricity bills by 46 per cent, free public transport to get more cars out of traffic," she said.
The Greens want big corporations to pay by increasing mining royalties to raise $55 billion over four years, introducing a 0.05% levy on the big banks to raise $4.6 billion over four years and taxing developers on land value gains from rezoning, reducing corruption and raising $7.8 billion over four years.

"The LNP has committed $62m to upgrade the Redlands Hospital upgrade, and $500,000 to make sure a new high school for the Redlands is shovel-ready.
"If elected, I have committed $500,000 for our volunteer rural fire brigade to have a fire truck, shed, training and equipment, and the remit for both bushfire mitigation and firefighting, in partnership with local urban brigades.
"The LNP will put the brakes on hooning with CCTV and road technology to shred the tyres of people who are driving dangerously.
"Small and medium enterprises have welcomed the LNP's no-new-tax guarantee and manufacturing initiatives. I will work with business operators to ensure our policies help them to thrive and support local jobs".
