BUSY Butterflies Education and Care Service has been awarded a nation award in family day care.
Andrew and Sharon Richards and their team won the Emerging Star Award in the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.
This award recognises the outstanding impact that this service has made to the lives of educators, families and children during its short time working within family day care.
Busy Butterflies opened its doors in March 2018 and provides education and care across the Redlands, Logan and Scenic Rim.
Chief Executive Officer Family Day Care Australia Andrew Paterson said the Emerging Star Award is awarded to an educator, coordinator and service that commenced its business in the past two years.
"This year we received a record 5600 nominations for the awards, which is a testament to the incredible work coming out of our sector from services such as Busy Butterflies," he said.
The Richards' have a team of 40 qualified educators that provide education and care for more than 300 children and work in partnership with 210 families.
"This is a huge achievement for a new service and is nice to be recognised for the effort we put into promoting family day care as a child care option for families," Ms Richards said.
