RESIDENTS at Wellington Point and Ormiston could be affected by flashing lights and loud machinery, with night works on the rail line scheduled to take place next week.
From 9pm to 5am between Monday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 13, Queensland Rail is set to carry out track maintenance between Wellington Point and Ormiston stations.
Work will involve unloading ballast and rail, welding, and the use of loud, heavy machinery including loaders, excavators and on-track vehicles with horns, bright flashing lights and reversing beepers.
A Queensland Rail spokesperson said efforts would be made to minimise the impact on nearby residents.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to improve our network."
Work will take place between Wellington Point station and the Station Street rail bridge, and Beckwith Street, Ormiston.
It may be subject to change due to weather conditions and operational requirements.
