THIS year promises to be a busy one for Theatre Redlands at Redland Museum.
The season will open in March with a repeat season of Women of Their Word, back by popular demand.
The theatrical presentation focuses Australian women poets, their works, lives and aspirations.
Honouring International Women's Day and Women's History Month, this year's production will feature Penny Everingham and Sharon Vassallo.
Written by Jan Nary, the production tells the life story of poets including Leona Kyling, Judith Wright, Maybanke Anderson, Louisa Lawson and Dorothy Hewitt.
This year will also bring the museum's first Queensland Day play and the June-July school holidays will see pantomime take the stage with Doris and the Dingo, a celebration of Australia, rural women, conservation and, of course, chooks.
The Seniors Week show in August will give audiences a behind-the-scenes look into a radio play, inviting visitors into the studio with the cast and technicians.
When Halloween rolls around in October, Theatre Redlands will be rolling out the horror and the laughs. Following on the success of its double-award winning 2020 production When the Darkness Moves, hosts will take visitors on a tour to the darker sides of the museum's stories.
Museum members receive early notice of dates and discounts to events as well as 12 months' free access to explore the museum's displays and exhibitions.
