THIEVES have struck again at Point Lookout's Headland Park, stealing the Mulumba sign for the second time in just a few months.
Police are appealing for information after the sign was taken from the park sometime overnight on Sunday, January 24.
Sergeant Darren Scanlan said the sign was thrown off the headland the first time it was stolen.
"Whoever is stealing this sign must live a very miserable life," he said. "This is just ignorant and petty behaviour."
Tools were likely used to remove the sign which is the Murri name for the headland.
Anyone with information is urged to call call Policelink on 131 444 and quote the reference number QP2100169081.
Police say thanks
POLICE are thanking the public for their assistance during investigations into several matters at Dunwich Primary School.
Youths were alleged to have lit flares on school grounds, smashed bottles and thrown rocks at houses.
Sergeant Darren Scanlan said two Dunwich boys, a 12-year-old and 13-year-old, had been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
He said police had other names and would be following up the matter in the coming days.
"I would like to thank the community for their assistance," Sergeant Scanlan said.
"Police can't be everywhere at once and rely on information from the community to assist in investigations.
"As a community, we need to call out behaviour like this when we see it and ensure the young people know it is not tolerated."
