A TASTE of the music and activities of the Middle Ages is coming to Birkdale next month.
The Olde English Fair will be at the grounds of St George's Church on Thorne Road on May 15 from 8am to 3pm.
Organised by the Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay, the fair will include attractions like morris dancing and knights in armour fighting mock battles.
It will also feature a stained glass display, antique machinery, a Punch and Judy show, magic, juggling and plenty of period costumes, games and activities.
A medieval harpist, dancers and school choirs and ensembles will provide musical entertainment.
Children can enjoy a jumping castle, while adults can peruse stalls selling books, plants, toys, cake, craft and sweets.
Parish member Aline Stinton said 10 per cent of the proceeds would go to the Bush Ministry Fund, which was established in 1998 to support struggling parishes in rural areas of Queensland.
"Our aim is to provide an excellent free event for the local community and a low-key way to be in touch with their local church," she said.
"The fair helps to keep our vibrant church and community ministries alive and flourishing."
Organisers have a COVIDSafe plan in place.
