A hard-fought match for the seniors saw the Redland-Victoria Point Sharks go down by one point to Morningside at Hawthorne on Saturday.
Injuries saw the experienced Tom Salter and Adrian Williams join Justin Currie and Lachie McDonald on the sidelines.
Juniors Isaac Mole, Bailey Hewitt and Harrison Hunkin all came into the side along with Caleb Franks returning from injury.
Morningside's defensive game plan kept the scores low throughout the afternoon.
Coach Phil Carse moved Peter Yagmoor forward who inspired a spirited comeback, but despite having the ball parked inside forward 50 for the final minute and three shots on goal not scoring, the Sharks went down 50 points to 51.
Club games record holder Matt Thomson was outstanding with his calm approach in defense.
Young gun Dylan Grenn and returning Tom Michael were standouts in the development side, despite the team's 80 to 42 loss against Morningside.
In his first game at the club in five years, Michael managed three goals.
Ruckman Grenn battled hard all day, not only clearly winning the hit outs but also taking some great contested marks around the ground and making some huge tackles.
It was a standout best on ground performance by the youngest player on the club's senior list.
The colts' performance improved on last week with better application to attack on the ball and tackling.
They still saw a bitter defeat to Morningside 97 to 30.
A massive crowd stayed on to support the girls, who unfortunately were no match for the home side, going down 48 to 1.
The club's annual Ladies Day is on this Saturday, with a dress theme of red, white and black.
Tickets are $50. More information is available on the Redland-Victoria Point Sharks Facebook page.
Next weekend, the men will take on Maroochydore at home, while the women will play Moreton Bay at Burpengary.
