A MAJOR search for missing New Zealand surf-skier Jordan Kelly has entered its third day as conditions ease in Moreton Bay.
Today 11 vessels, a helicopter, two drones and a dive unit are searching the waters from Moreton Island to North Stradbroke Island where the 26-year old disappeared in heavy seas Saturday afternoon.
Mr Kelly's friend 28-year-old Jack McDonald - who was with him when he disappeared and managed to paddle to shore about 8pm - has recovered from mild hypothermia.
He returned to the place where Mr Kelly disappeared on Monday night to help police narrow the search area.
Conditions have eased in the bay as the Weather Bureau recorded winds of 24km/hr at Cape Moreton today.
Conditions in the bay will further ease tomorrow, with seas to .5 metre.
Wave monitoring buoys showed a substantial offshore swell remained.
Members of Mr Kelly's family arrived on Monday to help with the search on land.
