A conservationist will share his tips on how to identify plants and trees at the next Redland Bushwalkers Club meeting.
Glenn Brown, an environmental consultant and trainer has extensive experience in natural area management, conservation and horticultural sectors and will share his knowledge with a workshop style presentation.
The Redland Bushwalkers next club meeting will be on Wednesday July 14 at Lyons Hall, 122 Shore Street, Cleveland at 7pm for 7.30pm start.
Visitors are welcome to join the meeting.
Mr Brown has shared his skills and experience for years training others and has recently helped to design and write an online training package for Project Phoenix, a strategic program led by Greening Australia, which aims to build and secure native seed and plant supply for restoration after the devastating Black Summer bushfires. This work is to be published in 2021.
A resident of the Redlands for the past 30 years he has a passion to inspire people to appreciate, understand and look after natural areas.
"By knowing how to identify vegetation types and recognising individual species by their diagnostic characteristics, for example, bark type, fruit, leaf shape and more... will enrich any bushwalking experience," Mr Brown said.
