A man has been hospitalised after an e-scooter crash in the Redlands at the weekend, the second incident in the area in just one week.
A man in his 50s was injured on Saturday night when the motorised scooter he was riding crashed into a tree on Ney Road in Capalaba at 8.49pm.
Paramedics took him to the Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition with back and leg pain.
It comes after a man was injured in a crash involving his e-scooter and a vehicle at Cleveland last Tuesday.
Another man in his 50s was killed in Brisbane's West End on Monday when his e-scooter crashed into a pole.
The incidents prompted Senior Seargent Stephen Lees from Capalaba Road Policing Unit to issue a warning for people riding personal mobility devices to take extra caution.
"Riders of PMD's are more vulnerable to incidents as apposed to bicycle riders as riders are less experienced with electrically propelled devices that travel up to 25 klm/h," Mr Lees said.
"Ride at slower speeds whilst inexperienced and reduce speed when approaching pedestrians and hazards and even though not legally required, wear safety equipment such as elbow and knee guards."
The laws for PMDs can be found on the Queensland government website.
