There is a gold rush at Redlands College for volleyball players who pulled off a clean sweep at the Christian Schools Sports Association Queensland Volleyball Competition.
On Thursday July 22, nine teams from grades 7-12 competed at the Carrara Indoor Sports Centre across six divisions.
It was the first time the school had entered the CSSAQ volleyball competition, and six teams won all of the divisions they entered, with a seventh taking home bronze.
Redlands College director of sports and activities Malcom Oosterbeek said they wanted to compete against other Christian schools.
"We dominated the competition. It was really great to see our teams succeed and have the opportunity to just enjoy the game," Mr Oosterbeek said
"At Redlands College we play volleyball at a very high level and we don't often play other individual private schools, so it's great to prove that we are the top Christian school in the south-east."
Teams at Redlands College train at least three times a week for high level games and competitions.
The school ranks eighth in Australia and second in Queensland for school volleyball.
"We've been working on the volleyball program, for 10 years now, so it's really good to see how far our students have come," Mr Oosterbeek said.
"We want to lift the level of school volleyball in the state, and playing these teams is a great way to help other schools improve as well.
"These kids have always pushed the boundaries and reset their goals, we're very proud of how they played."
