A Southern Moreton Bay Island group is sharing in $60,000 to help enhance the sustainability of the Lamb Island Community Gardens.
Seqwater has awarded funding to several community organisations across the region.
Redlands MP Kim Richards said the Running Wild - Youth Conservation Culture grant would be a big boost.
"This particular project will focus on improving the sustainability of the Lamb Island Community Gardens through the installation of infrastructure to improve water management for the gardens," she said.
Running Wild manager Chook Larson said the grant would go towards the Living Water Project.
"The funding will go towards the installation of infrastructure to support the increase capture of rainwater, on-site water storage, and improved water management at the community garden," she said. "We hope to become a public demonstration site for efficient water management."
The Herring Lagoon archaeological excavation on North Stradbroke Island also received funding.
The Everick Foundation, the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation and University of Queensland are conducting an archaeological investigation of the lagoon, a culturally significant water source.
