An up and coming Thornlands actor is set to star in an award winning Queensland Theatre production.

Sheldon College alumni Mitchell Bourke will star in Return to the Dirt, a story about finding a place in the world and overcoming setbacks in life.
The play is set in Toowoomba and follows Steve (Bourke) who spends a year working at a funeral home, opening his eyes to what awaits us at the end and what it means to live.
The production won the Queensland Premier's Drama Award 2020-21.
Bourke discovered his love for the arts at Sheldon College, performing in a number of productions throughout school and continuing his passion since.
He performed in more productions at the Redland Performing Arts Centre, his most memorable in 2014, his final year at high school, with a leading role as Tony on the musical West Side Story.
Bourke went on to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Queensland University of Technology, and has since performed in theatre productions and television shows for ABC and SBS.
He planned to go to the United States in 2020 but had to stay home after the COVID pandemic hit.
Bourke continued to act in commercials, short films and a stage show as well as working behind the scenes on several International TV shows and films.
He is in rehearsals for Return to the Dirt which will run at the Queensland Theatre from October 16 until November 6.
