PARTS of south-east Queensland have received decent rain overnight, with Redlands, Beaudesert and Logan recording their highest single day falls in more than six months.
More rain is expected to hit the region over the remainder of the working week, but the Weather Bureau expects skies to clear for the weekend as temperature maximums creep towards 30 degrees.
Redlands recorded its highest rainfall total since April in the 24 hours to 9am this morning, with almost 40mm falling at the Alexandra Hills weather station.
It was a similar story at Beaudesert, where 42mm fell during the same period. It was the most rain the town has copped in a single day for more than six months, with 112.4mm recorded on March 23.

Logan received 36mm, Hillcrest 61mm, Upper Springbrook 62mm, Canungra 40mm, North Tamborine 45mm and Wyaralong Dam 44mm.
It came just hours after the Weather Bureau released a summer weather outlook warning of heightened flood and cyclone risk.
Meteorologist Helen Reid said most of the overnight rainfall came in the south-east, with Mount Glorious north-west of Brisbane receiving the state's highest rainfall total (79mm).
"We are expecting around another 30-40mm through the south-east today," she said.
"All this rain and cloud in the south means there are cooler temperatures and a decrease in fire danger ratings."
Ms Reid warned storms could hit the south-east again on Thursday as another trough moves through the state.
"The more active day (is) coming on Thursday," she said. "We can expect to see an increase in thunderstorm activity, particularly in the south-east and along the coast.
"We might even see some severe thunderstorms again through the south-east, and maybe one or two lingering on Friday along the coastal regions."
Temperatures will reach the high 20s over the weekend, but there will be single figure lows for Beaudesert.
Thunderstorms are also possible early next week.
