The U3A Redlands theatre group presents a Twist on Christmas combining Shakespeare, Dickens and a bit of fun with shows on October 24 and 31.
Directed by Sue Willingham, A Twist on Christmas comes in two acts.
The first is a reading of a radio play adapted for the performance. The 'moved read' is a technique used in script development to enable the writer to see and hear tyheir script with costuming and sets, in order to make changes if needed.
This story is a re-working of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, with all its ghosts and drama, retold in an Australian setting. It is seen through the eyes of an unhappy young girl.
The second act is a musical variety show and involves the Starlight Dancers.
Shows will be staged at 2pm at the Victoria Point High School, Benfer Road.
