RAIN did not dampen enthusiasm for this year's Winter Harvest Festival.
A significant crowd turned up to the Aratula Sports Complex, many wearing gum boots and rain ponchos to brave the muddy grounds.
In the main pavilion local producers displayed their wares, with many people taking the opportunity to spend some time undercover and enjoy cooking demonstrations by chefs Josue Lopez (Monstera Group), Ash Martin, Glen Barrett (Wild Canary), and Cameron Matthews using the best of Scenic Rim produce.
Representatives from Master Chef were keen to speak with local cooks interested in auditioning for the television show.
Also present on the day was Agriculture Minister Mark Furner accompanied by Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen and his wife Denise.
Scenic Rim state MP Jon Krause was in attendance with his family.
Division 6 councillor Duncan McInnes could be seen mingling in the crowd and enjoying the food, activities and entertainment on offer.
Throughout the grounds more stallholders had everything from veggies and conserves to fingerlimes, chocolate and local beers and wines.
On stage were local musicians who performed for the crowd, with some attendees dancing on the grass.
There were plenty of activities for children and adults, including face painting, jumping castle and the traditional carrot tossing challenge.
Fashions on the Field, presented by Kalfresh, saw competitors of all ages take the catwalk wearing their best vegetable-themed outfits.
The contest was judged by one of Queensland's leading Instagram fashionistas, Brooke Falvey of "What Brooke Wore", who awarded the $250 Scenic Rim Farm Box first prize to Eddie, a young man who described his outfit as "broccolli".
The judge's prize of a $150 Farm Box went to two-year-old Parker Gorham from Wellington Point who braved the catwalk wearing every colour of all the fruits and vegetables included in the fresh produce display.
"In her beautiful rainbow skirt, she also had a handbag, which is a gardening utensil bag," Ms Falvey said.
"I love her use of colour, particularly on the gloomy and grey day it is beautiful to see multi-coloured skirts."
The popular 12-tonne tractor pull could not go ahead becase of the sodden ground, so contenders were not able to knock current champions The Butcher Co from the winner's podium for bragging rights and a cash prize.
