"Due to a manufacturing defect, the driveshaft may break under load. If this occurs, it may lead to a sudden loss of motive power," Kia said in its recall notice.
"A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to the vehicle occupants and/or other road users."
Kia EV6 and Niro EV recalled
- A total of 237 vehicles built in 2023 are affected
- A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here
- The recall notice is attached here
If you own an affected EV6 or Niro EV, you'll need to contact your preferred Kia dealer to schedule an appointment to have the driveshaft replaced, free of charge.
