Replacing the EQB 250 in Australia is the EQB 250+, priced at $89,100 before on-road costs.
That's $1366 more than before, but it still falls under the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold along with the new 250+ variant of the related EQA. The dual-motor all-wheel drive EQB 350 has been dropped.
The updated model is in showrooms this week.
The facelifted EQB features a new grille and tail lights, while inside there's new backlit patterned trim and a new Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch-capacitive switchgear.
The EQB 250+ gains a standard third row of seats, as well as a larger battery affording more range, plus additional standard equipment.
The EQB is one of only three electric SUVs currently on sale in Australia with a third row of seats, the other two being the considerably larger Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Kia EV9.

Drivetrain
As with the outgoing EQB 250, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ has a single-motor front-wheel drive powertrain.
Its front-mounted electric motor produces 140kW of power and 385Nm of torque.
Efficiency
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ upgrades from a 66.5kWh battery to a 70.5kWh unit, bumping up range by 57km to 564km on the more lenient NEDC cycle. On the stricter WLTP cycle, it's 536km.
Dimensions
The Mercedes-Benz EQB measures 4684mm long, 1834mm wide and 1667mm tall on a 2829mm wheelbase.
It has 130L of boot space behind the third row, expanding to 495L with the third row folded and 1710L with both the second and third row folded.
Servicing and Warranty
The Mercedes-Benz EQB is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with the high-voltage battery covered by a separate eight-year, 160,000km warranty.
Servicing is required every 12 months or 25,000km, whichever comes first.
Mercedes-Benz offers three-, four-, and five-year pre-paid service plans, currently priced at $1910, $2625 and $3200, respectively.
Unlike the related EQA, the EQB has only one year – not three – of complimentary unlimited charging within the Chargefox network.
Mercedes me Charge allows you to use the satellite navigation to calculate a route that takes into account charging needs.
The infotainment system will display Chargefox chargers (and will expand to include other providers in 2025), and authentication can be managed via the touchscreen or via the Mercedes me smartphone app.
Users can view the specific cost per kilowatt-hour or per minute, as well as an estimate of the total charging cost, using the touchscreen or the smartphone app.
Safety
The Mercedes-Benz EQB received a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, based on testing conducted by Euro NCAP in 2019.
It received an adult occupant protection rating of 95 per cent, a child occupant protection rating of 91 per cent, a vulnerable road user protection rating of 78 per cent, and a safety assist rating of 76 per cent.
