Birkdale and Thorneside are bayside suburbs 20 kilometres east of the CBD, 20 minutes to the airport, with its closest suburb being Wellington Point.

- Enjoy breakfast, lunch or a coffee the new cafe, right opposite Beth Boyd Park. The park has plenty of activities for the children and there is a white sandy beach for swimming.
- From Beth Boyd Park, Thorneside walk along the Esplanade right through to the Aquatic Paradise Park at Birkdale. A beautiful relaxing 30 minute walk or a 10 minute run for the active people, it also includes a outdoor gym.
