THERE is less than three months to go until the Relay for Life takes place in the Redlands with about 50 people registered to walk.
The overnight event will take place on the weekend of April 29 to 30 at the Cleveland Showgrounds.
Group Too Inspired to To Be Tired, who have raised up to $20,000 for the cause since they first took part three years ago, have already organised for a bake sale at the Victoria Point Bunnings on March 26.
Team leader Lara Griffin said raising money before the Relay for Life meant the the endurance walk was able to be enjoyed.
“By putting in all the hard work and fundraising early, we can then treat the weekend as a celebration,” she said.
The group will also raffle off an air-conditioning unit to boost dollars raised.
Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said funds generated from the Redland City Relay for Life helped the organisation assist people with cancer and undertake research into the disease.
“Whether you can volunteer a lot of time, or just lend the occasional helping hand, we would love to have you on board.”
