The Cage Youth Foundation is proving both sentiments true, with help from Family Drug Support Queensland.
Managing director Linda Grieve said people with addicted family members could learn more at an information session on Wednesday, March 28 from 6pm.
She said FDS Queensland’s Dom Shelley would step the audience through challenges faced by addicts and their families and the support services available.
Ms Grieve said The Cage had worked with FDS for the past six years to help people overcome dependency issues by hosting a support group on the last Tuesday of every month from 7pm to 9pm.
The Cage is also helping to link families and individuals to support services through their role as Redlands Local Drug Action Team’s lead organisation.
Drug action teams were formed in response to the federal government’s 2015 National Ice Action Strategy and by 2020, there could be 220 communities involved.
Ms Grieve said light refreshments would be served to forum guests. Doors open at 5.30pm.
She said CAGE was an acronym for Creating A Good Environment.
