AN incident involving wildlife is believed to have caused power outages to more than 2200 customers overnight in Cleveland and Thornlands.
Electricity is understood to have been cut from about 9.30pm on Sunday, June 3, with properties reconnected from about 11.30pm.
An Energex spokesman said the wildlife incident had caused a high voltage powerline in Cleveland to fall, damaging a feederline and cutting power to homes.

He said crew had re-connected most homes by about 11.30pm, with properties closest to the fault switched back on last about 1.20am.
“This type of thing can happen when a tree branch falls on wires,” he said.
Power supply will also be cut to some homes in the Redlands for about six hours or more as maintenance works are carried out from today.
Estelle and Holloway streets at Birkdale were disconnected earlier on Monday, June 4.
Other streets to be switched off at Alexandra Hills, Birkdale, Capalaba and Macleay Island are all included on a planned outages list here.
