IT HAS a fireplace, media room and pool house.
But this Wellington Point home might need a trophy shelf added after its Redland Bay builders, Munro Designed Homes, picked-up a gong for the home’s design.
The dwelling, called Galleon, was named by Master Builders Queensland at an awards ceremony this month as Brisbane’s best build for homes priced between $651,000 to $750,000.

Munro Designed Homes founder and director Chris Munro said he was delighted by the win.
“We’re always seeking to push the boundaries and deliver architectural homes that are both visually appealing and functional,” he said.
“Our Galleon home stood out from the competition with a thoughtful design and clever use of materials which sought to maximise the bay views and control the climate.”
The home is set on a 462m2 lot.
It features four bedrooms – three with en suits – a study, open-plan living areas, scullery, two car garage and more.
Mr Munro described Galleon as a place where beauty and practicality collided, with design aspects able to be replicated and tweaked for client’s tastes.
“(The home) is a large open-plan, high-set home, boasting modern electronics, fittings and fixtures into today’s Queenslander,” Mr Munro said.
“We’ve carved out a niche market in the Redland Bay region delivering custom homes that work seamlessly with the bayside lifestyle and this award is recognition of that.
“What’s more, it’s fantastic to see a small, family-owned business recognised for their hard work and impact on the industry.”
