RESIDENTS and staff at Aveo Cleveland painted their retirement facility pink to raise money for the PA Research Foundation.
In 2016 Aveo formed a partnership with the organisation across Australia.
The foundation’s breast cancer campaign Project Pink raises money for medical research.
An Aveo spokesperson said the Cleveland community centre had been decorated with items like pink bras, ties, flowers and crocheted rugs.
“A pink ‘waterfall of life’ is at the entrance to the community centre with over 150 ribbons hanging, one to represent every person that has, in some way, been touched by cancer,” the spokesperson said.
Residents have raised more than $3800 this month from donations, raffles and events.
They will be hosting a fundraising open day on Saturday, October 20 to continue their efforts.
PA Research Foundation chief executive Damien Topp attended a morning tea at the centre to give residents information on their research and Project Pink fundraising.

Market stalls at the open day will sell items like baked goods, jewellery, arts and crafts.
Residents will have an art exhibition and there will be live music and activities for all ages.
The open day is on Saturday, October 20 from 10am to 2pm.
Aveo Cleveland is at 148 Smith Street.
